Local places, and what they are actually like.
Vouch is a record of every place to eat and drink in one neighbourhood. The good, the bad, the ugly, but most importantly the truth. Write a Vouch, get a voucher.
You go somewhere, then you say what it was like
Open the venue page, tap a rating and write a few lines. Sixty seconds, and no account is needed. Your take publishes straight away.
The useful part is the words. What you ordered, how long the wait was, whether you could hear each other. A number on its own moves the average and tells nobody anything.
Showing you went is what makes it count
Show a receipt or forward a booking confirmation. Either one marks the take as verified.
Verified takes carry three times the weight of unverified ones. Unverified takes still publish and remain visible; they are clearly labelled and count for less.
Rewards for useful reviews
Every published review earns one point. Confirming your visit and adding text raises that to three points; adding a photograph of the food or venue adds one more, up to four review points in total. First to review a place earns three bonus points. The more points you have, the bigger your chance of winning this month's food voucher.
We monitor for spam and can cap points from low-quality Vouches.
The venue gets to answer back
Any venue can claim its page, correct the details, add its own photographs and reply publicly to any take about it.
What it cannot do is have a take removed because it disagrees with it. A right of reply is not a delete button, and the difference between those two is most of what separates this from a reputation management tool.
Two things people ask
Both come up often enough to answer here rather than in a footer.
If I write something negative
It publishes, and it stays
Takes are removed only for being fabricated, for describing a visit that did not happen, or for being written by the venue about itself. Not for being unflattering. The venue can reply underneath.
Are the reviews bought
No
Rewards are based on writing a useful review, not whether the review is positive or negative.
Why handles instead of real names
Honest criticism needs some cover
A handle is persistent, so you can read everything someone has written and judge whether you trust them. It just is not their passport. Accountability without requiring people to put their legal name next to a complaint about their local.
Why work neighbourhood by neighbourhood
Covered properly beats covered widely
A focused guide written by local diners is more useful than a huge list of anonymous ratings. Each Vouch neighbourhood is built as a complete local patch rather than a thin citywide directory.
Nineteen places in SE15 have nothing written about them.
First to review any of them earns three bonus points and a permanent mark on your profile.
